WHAT WE BELIEVEā€¦

About the Bible

We Believe the bible is not a collection of fables or human ideas about God. It is Godā€™s very words given through people to people. It is inspired and orchestrated by God and was given to mankind by Godā€™s revelation. In other words neither man nor woman thought up the scriptures.

Because it is inspired by God, it is authoritative truth without any mixture of error. We receive, believe and accept the Word of God and not man.

II Timothy 3:16-17 II Peter 1:16-21 I Thessalonians 2:13

About God and The Trinity

We believe God is the creator and ruler of the universe. We believe in The Trinity. God exists in three distinct persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. These three are co-equal and are one God. All throughout the bible there are references that indicates this plurality, Godhead.

John 1:1-2,14 John 10:30 Matthew 3:13-17 I John 5:6-7 Genesis 1:1

About Jesus

We believe Jesus Christ is the Son of God. Jesus left heaven and came to earth as man, and let go of His heavenly authority and power to die on the cross to save mankind (us). Paul declared that in Jesus lives all the fullness of the Godhead in bodily form. Jesus was and is the absolute and perfect God. Jesus is the divine essence of the Godhead, the personality of God, the attributes of God and His divine nature. We believe that Jesus Christ as risen from the dead, ascended into heaven, where, as the one mediator between God and man. Jesus is our connection to the Father

About the Holy Spirit

We believe God the Father, Jesus, and Holy Spirit are one, sometime referred to as the Trinity or Godhead. Holy Spirit is really a person, a divine person. He is on the same level as God the Father, and Jesus the Son. To the believer He is The Comforter. He equips us as believers with an understanding of spiritual truths, power for living, and instruction for living righteously. He awakens awareness in people of their need for Jesus Christ. As believers we seek to live under His power daily. It is a worthy note that that the scriptures refers to Holy Spirit as ā€œHE or HIMā€ not it.

About Salvation

We believe through Godā€™s Son Jesus Christ we have been given the gift of salvation. God says all have sinned, no matter race, social or economical status. Man is created in the image of God but is separated from God by sin. Through the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ there is redemption of our sinful nature and access to enteral life. Without Jesus we cannot have enteral life and a relationship with God the Father. Click here to learn more about salvation!

About Prayer

We believe in the power of prayer. When we pray, we believe God answers and hears us. We believe the exercise of our faithĀ  and the authority we have in the name of Jesus changes things through vehicle of prayer. Jesus told the disciples to be alert (watchful), and pray that they would be counted worthy and the strength to escape the challenges of life; Jesus wants us to do the same. Paul admonished the people to pray, be alert, talk to God and make fervent prayers for their brothers and sisters in Christ. Paul also exhorted the people to pray for all. When we pray, we believe God answers, hears us, gives guidance and empowers us.Ā

Luke 21:36 Ephesians 6:18 I Thessalonians 5:17 Matthew 21:22 Mark 11:24-26 1 John 5:14-15

About Water Baptism

We believe water baptism is symbolic of what Jesus did for us and is our identification with Him, His death and resurrection. Baptism symbolizes the death and burial of our old way of life and is a public declaration of a personal decision to accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. While water baptism does not save you, but shows the world that you have already been saved. Water baptism is not required for salvation, it is a biblical command and demonstrates your love and obedience to Christ.

Romans 6:1-4 Galatians 2:27 Acts 19:5 Acts 18:8 Colossians 2:12; Acts 2:41; Ephesians 2: 8-9; Matthew 28:19-20

About Baptism in Holy Spirit

We believe Baptism of Holy Spirit is a gift from God. The believer can be immersed in the Spirit of God through Holy Spirit. Being filled with Holy Spirit is for every believer. It empowers the believer to develop the character of Christ and live every day in God’s will which results in a victorious Christian life. We believe evidence of baptism in Holy Spirit produces a spiritual prayer language (unknown tongues) that edifies, charges us, gives us strength in our spirits and develops our spiritual perception.

About Communion

We believe The Lordā€™s Supper or Communion is the eating of bread and the drinking of wine (juice), which is a representation of the Body and Blood of Jesus Christ. Communion is not a vehicle to salvation. It is symbolic of a believerā€™s faith in the atoning work of the cross.

Matthew 26:26-30; Mark 14:22-26; Luke 22:19,20; 1 Corinthians 11:23-29

About The Gift of Prophecy

We believe in the Gift of Prophecy. This gift signifies the speaking forth of the mind and counsel of God through a person inspired by the Spirit. Prophecy is a supernatural utterance in a known tongue and is not primarily foretelling or prediction. itā€™s also the declaration of that which cannot be known by natural means. it is used to declare that the will of God, whether with reference to the past, the present, or the future.

About Tithes and Offerings

We believe in tithes and offerings. God wants us to be good administrators and managers of the finances He gives us; He wants us to be good Stewards. Stewardship involves what we wonā€™t do with the money we have. Tithing is being an excellent steward of what God has given us. We ask God what to give in an offering but we do not ask about the tithe; it is ten percent of what we make (our earnings). We are faithful participants in the giving of tithes and offerings.
